Something I learned during my trip is that the Chinese love stairs. Every single restaurant we went into was either on the 3rd or 4th floor (or even two or three stories below the first floor) of the building we were in, and there are rarely any elevators. Yet they would always decorate the staircases with either paintings, statues, or even lanterns like these.
